When you upload a photo, it is sent through our AI gateway to OpenAI solely to analyse your face shape and generate your sunglasses try-on. OpenAI does not use submitted images to train its models and holds them only briefly for safety and abuse checks (generally up to 30 days) before deleting them.

ShadesMatch.ai does not permanently store your original photo. For signed-in members who tick the optional save box, we store only the generated try-on images (never the original selfie), encrypted, restricted to that account, and automatically deleted after 30 days — or instantly with the “Delete my try-ons” button.

We never use your photos or generated images for model training, advertising or analytics without your separate explicit consent.

Your try-on balance and purchase status are stored on our servers so they cannot be reset by clearing your browser or reinstalling. Preferences, favourites and any locally cached try-on results stay in your browser until you delete them in your Profile.

If you create an account, we store your email address to sign you in. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us.

ShadesMatch.ai is an independent recommendation service. When you follow a “Compare Prices & Buy” link to a retailer, that link may be an affiliate link: if you make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you. Commission never influences which sunglasses we recommend — recommendations are ranked only against your stated preferences and our approved product catalogue.

Retailer prices shown are exact verified prices with the date they were last checked. If no verified price is available we say so rather than estimate. Retailer names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Try-on images are AI-generated style mock-ups for guidance only — exact colours, proportions and physical fit can vary from the real product. The service is provided “as is” and purchasing decisions remain between you and the retailer. You must own the rights to any photo you upload and be at least 13 years old to use the service.
